I'm registered! I see Mike, Greg and Tom as well.

I'm really nervous to be competing in the advanced division, but I'm going to let that drive me to improve as much as I can between now and then.

Divisions are:

0-1 years grappling: Beginner (no wrestlers)

1-3 years: Intermediate

3-5 years: Advanced

5+ years: Expert

You're in the right division, for sure, @greg-st-pierre .  I'm feeling good about your comp prep, man, for one major reason:

Nobody is clearer on their gameplan than you.

Don't feel bad about working your gameplan at PMA, or it getting old, for you or us, or something.

It's not old if it hasn't even been used (in real battle) yet!

We all get better at our guillotine defense with you, anyway, and that prepares us for at least one type of opponent.

Please note the 3/15 early registration date, after which price jumps from $65 up to $85

Sign up when it makes the most sense.

Yeah @greg-st-pierre! 860 Fun Team finna compromise joints and airways!

This will be my first bjj competition. I didn’t want to wait any longer to put some skills to the test. No matter the outcome I’m happy to represent my team and I’m sure it will be a good learning experience.

If anyone else is on the fence, then I’d say go for it. There are some seasoned blue belts especially that seem more than ready to me. It would be awesome to have a group of us show up to compete that day.

@gregwood I'm not able to find the rules as far which moves are allowed in which division. Has that been decided already? Basically I'm trying to figure out if I need to worry about heel hooks, lol

I don't immediately have the ruleset near me, but in advanced, I'd plan to deal with them.

Your gameplan does do this, though, with no time spent in bottom guard, and all upper body attacks.

I will most certainly, personally, want to run leg disentanglements before the tourney, though, too.. so we can jam, for sure
