PMA is full of great coaches and training partners! 

This members area forum is an online extension of the vibrant social community we have on the mat.  The forum is just another way to "be there" in addition to your time in class, or maybe even instead, if you are injured, or for any reason can't make it in, but want to hang out with us.  Perhaps obviously, regular PMA rules and "be excellent to each other" decorum apply. 

All ranks, and no matter how new, please engage and enjoy!

@MENTIONS: As on other platforms, putting an @ and then a username will tag that person.  The username is the grey @ name underneath their avatar on any post.  As you can see, by my photo on this post, mine is @gregwood

ACHIEVEMENTS: The greater engagement you have with the forum, the more achievements you can earn as a contributor, which is kind of a fun thing 🙂

FORUMS AVAILABLE:  I launched the forum by creating forums for students and coaches in each class to exchange questions, videos, or (anything), as well as forums like "fitness" and "gear."  Inside these forums you are invited to begin new topics like:

     - asking your coach a question about a move (asking publicly helps others who may have the same question)

     - finding the video that your coach said they'd post online, after mentioning it in class

     - asking each other about desirable kettlebell workouts

     - letting each other know about an online sale on rash guards

HOW TO:

• DIRECT MESSAGE SOMEONE: You can DM one, or multiple other people.  To learn how to find your inbox, and compose a new message (including getting a live dropdown when you start typing someone's first name), click here for the video tutorial I made.  (FYI: As with posts, refresh a few seconds after sending any message, to see it pop up.) 
• EMBED A PIC INTO YOUR POST: An image you upload using the "Attach File: Choose File" button will appear only as a hyperlink in your post.  That's not as cool as the picture itself showing up in your post.  For a pic to appear in the post, simply type out the hyperlink to an image elsewhere on the web. (It does have to exist elsewhere on the web).  If you want a place to host your images online for free, here's one service.
• EMBED A VIDEO INTO YOUR POST: Hyperlinks from the following should automatically embed in your post: YouTube, Vimeo, DailyMotion, Instagram, Facebook, and dozens more.
• UPDATE YOUR PROFILE IMAGE: Please click here and watch this video to learn how to update your profile image ("avatar")
